The home itself offers three floors of particularly spacious and elegant accommodation for elderly residents in need of 24-hour nursing as well as dementia care. There is a wide variety of day and activity rooms as well as an orangery, balconies and a roof garden to take full advantage of the surrounding scenery.

In addition, there is always something interesting to explore within our extensive secure landscaped garden with its pathways, raised beds, shrubbery, hedging and trees – you may even want to get involved yourself!

Respite Care Over The Seasonal Break

Many families and carers plan to take a well-earned break over Christmas but are concerned about a frail loved one who needs care and attention. To help, Chiltern Grange has arranged for some availability of Respite Care over the Christmas period.  You can leave your loved one with us, relaxed in the knowledge they will enjoy the Festive Season, safely accommodated in their own comfortable and private, en suite bedroom, whilst enjoying our excellent menu, and accessing all the fun and activities our residents will enjoy!

Every Monday, 11.30am, Crossword. The large group crossword has become quite a favourite so it has now been given a regular weekly slot for residents to come and sharpen their brains and if they’re really on the ball we can often fit in a word wheel too!

Tuesday 2nd December, 11.15am, Music. Dream Worldwide Productions perform a Christmas showcase of everyone’s festive favourites from Rockin’ Robin to Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.

Monday 8th December, 6.30pm, Christmas Sing Along. Relatives are invited to join the residents for a Christmas sing along with Suzy, enjoy a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie to get us in the Christmassy mood together!

Sunday 21st December, 11.15am, Brass Quartet. Marilyn, one of our lovely carers comes to Chiltern Grange in a different role, with her Brass Quartet. They were fantastic last year so we look forward to being entertained again by their musical talents!

Thursday 25th December, 10.30am, Family. A champagne reception for friends and family to come together with staff and residents to toast Christmas Day!

Care home events - Pamper SessionPorthaven held an exclusive pampering afternoon with Jo Malone on Wednesday 6th August 2014. Guests and residents had the opportunity to experience a Hand & Arm Massage and Fragrance Combining™ Consultation where participants discovered how to create their own signature scent and received a special Jo Malone gift bag, courtesy of Porthaven. The totally indulgent day was topped off with Champagne and treats inspired by the collection.

A Royal Jewel For Every Occasion

Care home events - Susan RuffittOn Tuesday 15th July 2014, Chiltern Grange Care Home played host to an entertaining talk from Susan Rumfitt, an independent jewellery specialist, presenter of ‘A Royal Jewel for every occasion’ and one of the team of specialists on the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow.

From Henry VIII to the Duchess of Cambridge, this talk focused on a variety of Royal Jewels which have caused wonder and mayhem over the last 500 years.

As well as the delightful talk, the afternoon comprised of a light lunch and a valuation session where residents and guests were able to bring along their cherished items.

Chilton Grange Welcomes Georgina Watts as Home Manager

Porthaven has recently appointed Georgina Watts as the new Home Manager for Chiltern Grange Care Home.

Georgina has enjoyed a career in both the care and financial services sectors and has held a number of senior management positions for blue-chip companies as well as other care providers.

Georgina’s varied experience means she is well-placed to handle the challenges in managing Chiltern Grange to ensure excellent care is delivered to her residents, and to help them live their lives to the fullest.

Her enthusiasm for care is a real asset to Chiltern Grange, matched by a desire to improve the quality of life for her residents.
