Tales of a Hero: Invictus Games Gold Medallist Steve Sebburn Tells His Story

We were honoured to welcome Steve Sebburn whose perseverance and hard work following injury resulted in winning gold and bronze medals at last year’s Invictus Games in Sydney.

During a mission specific training exercise in Afghanistan in 2014, an accident occurred which left Steve with serious back and brain injuries and he was told he would never run or cycle again. Thanks to his sheer determination, four years later Steve won a gold medal in the men’s road cycling time trial and a bronze in the men’s road cycling criterium in Australia. He spoke to our residents about his road to recovery following his injuries and they were astounded by his inspiring story and his determination.
