Prestbury House Chef Wins at Great British Care Awards!

Congratulations to our brilliant head chef, Richard, who was named winner of the Care Home Cook/Chef Award at the regional finals of the Great British Care Awards on Saturday 24th November.
Richard was nominated thanks to his commitment to both his team and the residents of Prestbury House. He ensures there is an inclusive, supportive environment in which his team can work and when needed, can be counted on to help out at other Porthaven homes to assist new chefs in their training.
Staff and residents at Prestbury House know how much effort Richard puts into his cooking, providing fresh, nourishing dishes for every meal. He chats with residents daily to find out what they enjoy eating so he can provide a menu that caters to the tastes of everyone living at the home and loves to visit the dining rooms at mealtimes to ensure everyone is enjoying their food.
The Great British Care Awards recognise talent and excellence in the care sector so we were thrilled for Richard upon winning this well-deserved accolade. The judges noted that Richard provided a worthwhile mealtime experience and that his menus took into account individual, diverse and cultural needs, enhancing the quality of life for residents.
Home manager, Elizabeth Finn, said of Richard’s win, ‘We’re passionate about providing appetising, nutritional meals for all of our residents here at Prestbury House and we’re delighted that Richard’s hard work has been recognised. He has a real talent for not only creating beautiful food but stunning displays too and everyone is so pleased for him on his win.’
