Our staff and residents were delighted to receive a letter from The Rt Hon Claire Perry, MP for the Devizes Constituency, congratulating everyone on their efforts in raising £400 for Alzheimer’s Support.
Over the course of six months, we hosted a number of in-house occasions to raise money for the charity as well as attending networking events in our local community, setting up stalls to sell beautiful gifts and homemade treats. Fundraising events included the Savernake View summer fete, the ‘Ladies that Latte’ group and the Marlborough Food Festival. Our fundraising run ended with our very popular Christmas Gift Fair on 5th December. A cheque presentation was held here at Savernake View once all the fundraising proceeds had been counted up with Alzheimer’s Support’s regional manager, Sarah Marriott, accepting the sum on the charity’s behalf.
As a home that provides care and support for residents living with dementia, Alzheimer’s Support was a popular choice when it came to choosing a charity to raise funds for. The charity is well known for helping to improve the quality of life of Wiltshire families affected by dementia and is very close to the hearts of many of our residents and staff.
In her letter, the MP acknowledged the many events that we had organised in our efforts to raise as much as we could for the cause. She also wished us luck for the skydive that our leisure and wellness coordinator, Adam, and head housekeeper, Kelly, will be undertaking during Dementia Action Week in May.
