Savernake View Care Home Rated ‘Good’ by CQC

We are elated following the announcement that we’ve been awarded a ‘good’ rating by health and social care regulator, the CQC.
Rated ‘good’ in all five of the quality outcomes within the report, we were overjoyed to read that our hard work and passion for care had been recognised following the inspection. Good care is paramount at Savernake View as is promoting dignity, respect and independence for every resident. The report stated: “People and their relatives gave us consistently positive feedback about the home and the care they received.” This was a sentiment also shared by staff as inspectors noted: “Staff spoke positively about working at the home and were proud of the standard of care they provided.”
The CQC praised our home for allowing residents to have “…maximum choice and control of their lives. Staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests.” This included enabling residents to continue to be part of the wider local community ensuring life remained engaging and stimulating. Inspectors observed that “There was good community engagement, with fundraising for charitable causes and involvement in local events.”
The new CQC rating coincided with our three year anniversary and on Wednesday 18th September, we hosted a celebration to thank our residents and families for their support and our staff for their unwavering dedication. In attendance at the celebration was Mayor of Marlborough, Councillor Mervyn Hall and Town Crier, Mike Tupman.
Our home manager Catherine Fountain has been leading the team since we opened in 2016. She commented: “We are all just delighted by our new rating which truly reflects how compassionate and caring my team are. To achieve ‘good’ in every category is just wonderful and it’s very well-deserved indeed. Our party was the perfect opportunity to celebrate our success all together and we’re very grateful to the Mayor and the Town Crier for taking time out of their busy schedules to join us.”
