On Friday 27th September we hosted a coffee morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan is the UK’s biggest cancer support charity providing a vital lifeline to those living with cancer and their families. We wanted to raise money for this brilliant charity as we know there would be significantly less support for cancer patients throughout the UK and we’re delighted to announce that, due to the success of our coffee morning, we were able to donate over £130.00 to Macmillan this year!
At the coffee morning we used our vintage china and drank our beverages in style. Thank you to Helen D, Kathryn M, Leila K, Alice W, Kate C and the kitchen staff at Thirlestaine Park for baking some delicious sweet treats for the occasion – we were treated to coffee and walnut cake, carrot cake and red velvet cupcakes plus many other delicious bakes. Thank you also to one of our neighbours at Cedar Court for bringing in a prize for the raffle; a gorgeous clock which was won by one of our lovely residents. Finally, thank you to everyone who attended the coffee morning and donated to Macmillan – these events would be nothing without your participation!
