On Sunday afternoons, we like to socialise and usually enjoy a film but on Sunday 9th February, we did something a little bit different and hosted a sherry afternoon to enjoy a tipple before dinner.
It was a lovely way to get lots of people throughout the home socialising and reminiscing together. We played an album by Frank Sinatra on the record player to set the mood and everyone enjoyed nibbles with their glass of sherry.
Pictured are old friends Betty and Mary who met when they lived in Tewkesbury over 50 years’ ago and now both live at Thirlestaine Park. The sherry afternoon was a great way for them to catch up together like old times. These afternoon socials have now become a monthly fixture as it went down very well with all the residents and it was nice to see so many family members attending too. As always, they are most welcome to come to any activities!
