Wiltshire Heights Travels the World in Commonwealth Celebrations!

Wiltshire Heights Care Home have been travelling around the world in honour of Commonwealth week. Each day, the team have provided food and experiences from a selection of Commonwealth countries including kangaroo from Australia and jerk chicken from Jamaica, washed down with a sample of rum! The week ended on Saturday with a ‘Best of British’ party in honour of the Queen’s birthday where the residents enjoyed entertainment from James Hogg and fresh fish and chips from FW Catering of Melksham.

Sharon Adams, Wiltshire Heights Home Manager, said, ‘We wanted to celebrate Commonwealth week and we have some residents with us who didn’t have the opportunity to travel the world as we do now. In a very small way, we could bring some of those countries to them.’

Libby Miles, Client Services Manager, said, ‘It was lovely to see the residents enjoying themselves with their families, we couldn’t have asked for a better end to our week’.

The next event for Wiltshire Heights is a Teddy Bears Picnic with Little Nightingales on the 12th May. Please call 01225 435600 or email for more details.
