Gatehouse Road, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire HP19 8EH

Aylesbury, the thriving county town of Buckinghamshire, sits on the edge of the beautiful Chiltern Hills in the Home Counties and its traditional market still survives from the 13th century, sitting comfortably alongside the town’s many modern facilities. With its prominent position on Gatehouse Road, Avondale offers a haven of calm and tranquility within private landscaped grounds, only a few minutes from Aylesbury’s bustling town centre. Avondale is also less than 20 minutes away from Haddenham, Thame and Wendover.

Opened in 2010, Avondale provides 24 hour residential, nursing, dementia and respite care for the elderly in an elegant and spacious home incorporating numerous thoughtful and practical features which ensure Avondale is able to meet the changing needs of its residents.

Our expertly trained and professional staff are dedicated to the care, comfort and dignity of all our residents, with special emphasis given to promoting independence, privacy, respect and wellbeing.

All residents benefit from living in a caring environment with generously appointed private bedrooms with en suite wetrooms, and plentiful communal living areas including sitting rooms, restaurants, a fully equipped gym, library, activities and wellbeing room and a private dining room for special family occasions.

In keeping with our unique and award winning activities and wellbeing philosophy, our residents also benefit from our private and secure landscaped gardens for peaceful relaxation, gardening and if the weather permits, gentle exercising.

All of us at Avondale are confident we are one of the leading care homes in Buckinghamshire. We would be delighted to show you our home, and should you decide to visit us, you will see the difference Avondale makes to the lives of our residents and families.

To arrange a visit, please call our home manager Antonios Loumousiotis, our client services manager Taylor Caterer or, if you prefer, simply send us a message.

Marie Curie coffee morning

As part of this year’s Marie Curie Great Daffodil Appeal we decided to invite our local community to join us for a coffee morning fundraiser in our café. Attendees were wowed by our chef’s homemade lemon cake, which paired perfectly with a cup of tea or coffee. During the event we also held a raffle, which was won by a fabulous friend of our home, Shirley.

A day out at the farm

In March we were lucky enough to be touched by a spot of spring sunshine, so we decided to take a trip to Bucks Goat Centre! Our residents thoroughly enjoyed getting up close to the farm’s friendly goats, who we are sure are also looking forward to the summer months ahead.

Lovely Leo

Earlier in the year, we were visited by the fantastic Leo and his trainers Jennie and Peter, who are part of Hearing Dogs for the Deaf. This charity works to train fantastic dogs like Leo to alert deaf people to important and life-saving noises that they may otherwise miss, such as a smoke alarm or baby’s cry. We had a great time seeing Leo demonstrate how these clever dogs assist their owners and the vital difference they make in their lives. We are delighted to be raising funds for this charity moving forward, and we hope to see more of Leo, Jennie and Peter in the future!
