Pumpkin decorating

Date posted: 25th November 2021

Here at Lavender Oaks in Carshalton, Surrey, we held our annual pumpkin decorating competition.

It was great to see all four of our suites getting creative with the task putting together spooky designs to go head to head in the final judging.

The winner, Ian Connor, was selected by our Home Trainer, Shannon Hamilton. Ian used foam cut outs to form shapes on his pumpkin and the colourful design put a smile on everyone’s face!

Homemade Gifts for a New Arrival

Date posted: 25th October 2021

Rosemary, a resident at Lavender Oaks Care Home in Carshalton, has been busy getting creative this past month.

After hearing the wonderful news that one of our carers is expecting a baby, Rosemary got to work making teddies out of flannels. Each one is carefully crafted and finished off with a ribbon bow and gradually, she is making a collection to put together for when the baby arrives.

Cupcake Decorating for a Finals Weekend

Date posted: 28th July 2021

To celebrate the final of Wimbledon and England getting through to the euros final, our residents spent the morning baking and decorating cupcakes. The aim was to combine both a tennis and football theme with the design and everyone really enjoyed the challenge. We then all enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea sampling the cupcake creations whilst looking forward to watching both of the matches in the cinema and on the television.
