Upton Mill Care Home is perfectly situated in the beautiful Cotswold town of Tetbury, a short distance from the bustling high street at the heart of the community and within close reach of the M4 and M5 motorways. Taking its name from Tetbury Upton’s historic connection to the 16th and 17th century woollen mills industry that the town is famous for, our beautiful new home is a place for our residents to live well.
Upton Mill Care Home is purpose built to provide a spacious and practical environment for residents with a range of differing care requirements, including residential and nursing care, with a dedicated suite for dementia care. Every one of Upton Mill’s private furnished bedrooms has an en suite wetroom, and whilst beautifully decorated, they are also designed with the care of our residents in mind.
The home also benefits from an extensive range of communal spaces, including lounges and dining rooms, as well as a café, cinema, hairdressing salon and a gym. A private dining room is available for family gatherings and special occasions.
Every Porthaven home has a dedicated activities and wellbeing team, who are there to provide our residents with a creative and fun range of activities, entertainment, hobbies and outings, 7 days a week. A talented head chef and their team ensures residents have a selection of appetising, fresh dishes to choose from every day using only the best locally sourced ingredients and, where applicable, suitable for their individual dietary and nutritional requirements.
It would be a pleasure to show you around our beautiful new home and chat about your needs, or the needs of your loved one. To arrange a visit please call our home manager Sita Muzira or, if you prefer, simply send us a message.

View the full Upton Mill activities listingTo mark the Goodwood Festival of Speed, here at Upton Mill Care Home we decided to host our very own car show! Our fantastic Tetbury community delighted our residents with their classic cars, and we were even joined by the award winning David Long and his ice cream van, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all! Pictured here is our lovely resident Sheila enjoying the cars with Tom, our host.
Read moreIn June we were joined by local Tetbury dairy farmer Treena, who spent the morning telling our residents about the various products that are made using milk from her farm. Everybody agreed that it was fascinating to find out how many unique things milk is used for! Later in the afternoon our Upton Mill residents had a go at making our own butter, which we sampled on some freshly baked scones!
Read moreTo mark National Police Week in May, we spent some time speaking to our resident Greta about her time in the Worcestershire Constabulary. Early on in life, Greta decided to follow in her father’s footsteps and join the police force and, after some time, interviewed for the Worcestershire Constabulary. However, before Greta was offered the position the chief constable had to request permission from the home secretary to hire her as she was only twenty years old! At the time police officers could not marry businessmen due to the risk of corruption, so after four years of handling family cases and driving prisoners to jail Greta left the constabulary to marry her husband, who was a local businessman.
