Care funding

The rules around care funding assistance from the government are complicated, and it is widely considered that it is becoming increasingly harder to obtain assistance, and that the rules are interpreted differently in different parts of the country.

Whilst most of our residents pay privately, our home managers will be able to assist you with applications for government funding, and to ensure expert financial advice is available, every home has a designated specialist financial advisor affiliated to the home.

Unlike general financial advisors, all advisors assisting at Porthaven homes are SOLLA (Society of Later Life Advisors) accredited, and specialise in giving financial advice for older people, including ensuring all available government benefits are applied for.

Porthaven does not require specialist financial advice to be taken, but highly recommends it, and many of our residents and families do so. It is important for us that you are aware the specialist advisors are not employed by Porthaven, and nor does Porthaven receive any payments or commission from them. We just want to ensure you receive good financial advice.

If you would like specialist financial advice on a no obligation basis, please speak to one of our home managers or client services managers, or collect details during a visit at your convenience. Click here for a list of contact numbers or to send us a message.
