Conveniently located adjacent to Macclesfield District General Hospital where Prestbury Road meets Cumberland Street, Prestbury House enjoys a mature setting only minutes away from Macclesfield town centre. Prestbury House is also less than 20 minutes away from Alderley Edge and Poynton.

Opened in 2011, Prestbury House provides 24 hour residential, nursing, dementia and respite care for the elderly in an elegant and spacious home incorporating numerous thoughtful and practical features which ensure Prestbury House is able to meet the changing needs of its residents.

Our expertly trained and professional staff are dedicated to the care, comfort and dignity of all our residents, with special emphasis given to promoting independence, privacy, respect and wellbeing.

All residents benefit from living in a caring environment with generously appointed private bedrooms with en suite wetrooms, and plentiful communal living areas including sitting rooms, restaurants, a hairdressing salon, leisure and wellness room and a private dining room for special family occasions.

In keeping with our unique and award winning leisure and wellness philosophy, our residents also benefit from our private and secure landscaped garden for peaceful relaxation, gardening and if the weather permits, gentle exercising.

CQC Rating Response

Each day we strive to provide the very best care and support, and put the safety, health and wellbeing of our residents at the forefront of everything we do.

We are disappointed with the current rating and the management and the staff of the home continue to make improvements.

We are proud of the high standards of care we provide, and believe this report in no way reflects the quality of life at the home, which family members and residents have rated as 9.7 out of 10 on the independent comparison website, The standard of care and support we provide is recognised by the local authority in its quality assessments as very high, and we receive consistently positive feedback from residents and their families, 93% of whom have said they would recommend us to a friend in the last 12 months. Indeed, the CQC itself has very positively assessed the standard practices used at Prestbury House in multiple previous inspections, where we have a consistent track record of being rated ‘Good’ in all areas.

We look forward to welcoming the CQC back to demonstrate to them the high-quality, compassionate, and responsive care service we have always provided.

Mary Sunley Barge Trip

Thursday 16th August 2018

There is plenty to see along the way including other boats, interesting reminders of our industrial heritage as well as plenty of wildlife. During a trip, residents are allowed onto the foredeck where they can sit to take in the sun and the views. At the turning point, we often purchase fish and chips to enjoy on the return journey!

George the Pianist

Friday 17th August 2018 - 2:00pm

George will be performing an array of modern and old musical pieces on his piano so come and join in and sing the afternoon away.

Debra McCormick

Monday 20th August 2018 - 2:00pm

Debra will be entertaining residents with a selection of songs and audience participation is greatly encouraged! Refreshing drinks will be available and everyone is welcome to join in the fun.

Foot Pedal Exercise

Wednesday 22nd August 2018 - 2:00pm

Residents are enjoying trying out our new foot pedal machines and keeping fit at the same time. The exercise machines improve the strength and movement in your legs from the comfort of the home.
