Located just a few minutes’ drive from the thriving high street centre of Marlborough, and with an elevated position overlooking Salisbury Road and affording far reaching views to Savernake Forest, Savernake View Care Home is ideally located for the residents of Marlborough, as well as other nearby towns and villages like Pewsey, Devizes, Ramsbury, Swindon, Hungerford and Aldborne which are all within easy reach.

Opened in August 2016, Savernake View provides 24 hour residential, nursing, dementia and respite care for the elderly in an elegant and spacious home incorporating numerous thoughtful and practical features which ensure Savernake View is able to meet the changing needs of its residents.

Porthaven’s expertly trained and professional staff are dedicated to the care, comfort and dignity of all our residents, with special emphasis given to promoting independence, privacy, respect and wellbeing.

All residents at Savernake View benefit from living in a caring environment with generously appointed private bedrooms with en suite wetrooms, and plentiful communal living areas including sitting rooms, restaurants, a café, cinema, hairdressing salon, leisure and wellness room and private dining room for special family occasions.

In keeping with our unique and award winning leisure and wellness philosophy, our residents also benefit from our private and secure landscaped garden for peaceful relaxation, gardening and if the weather permits, gentle exercise.

"We are pleased that the CQC has recognised the improvements in all areas of the home following the change of manager early last year, particularly rating the home ‘good’ in the ‘care’ category. The views of residents and families are also very important and the home has a 94% approval rating on the UK’s leading independent website as well as 100% approval ratings on all aspects of care from the home’s families and residents."

Book Club


Many residents have requested a book club where residents and staff can meet up each week and listen to a chapter being read out loud followed by a coffee and a chat about the chapter. This month we will begin reading ‘Of Mice and Men’ each week.

Sunday Services with Reuben Mann

Sunday 14th July 2019 - 11.00am

One Sunday each month Savernake View welcomes Reuben Mann and his volunteers for a church service. Reuben and his enthusiastic volunteers sing hymns and stick around for some refreshments and a chat with residents after.

Songs with Bob Barrow

Saturday 27th July 2019 - 2.00pm

Bob brings a wonderful energy (and costumes) when he performs for our residents, offering songs from the 20’s all the way to the 90’s.

Crafts Sessions with The Cubs

Our residents at Savernake View were ecstatic to welcome the Cubs to the home to do arts and crafts. The Cubs were wonderfully well-behaved and engaging with our residents who always enjoy these interactions with the younger generation.
