Bourne Wood Manor provides 24 hour residential, nursing, dementia and respite care for the elderly in an elegant and spacious home incorporating numerous thoughtful and practical features which ensure our home is able to meet the changing needs of its residents.

Carnival Extravaganza

Wednesday 9th June 2021 - From 2.00pm

On 9th June, we will be throwing a big community event with a carnival theme. There will be stalls, glitter painting, a live jazz performance and plenty to keep people occupied – it’s sure to be an amazing day!

Dementia Fundraiser – Denim for Dementia

Tuesday 15th June 2021 - All Day

We will be raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society by donning our denim, joining in on denim-themed activities and getting some sponsored events.


EVERY MONDAY - 11.00am–12.30pm

The leisure and wellness team are offering relaxing afternoon sessions of gentle hand massages in a calm and relaxed atmosphere. Massages can make the residents feel loved and calm and it is good for their wellbeing.

Gardening Club

EVERY THURSDAY - 3.30pm–4.30pm

Each fortnight a different art and craft session will be offered to the residents. These sessions will facilitate collages, painting, paper or felt craft and clay moulding. The aim of these sessions will be to express creativity through an engaging and tactile way. The residents will be encouraged to explore their skills and try new things.

Minibus Trips Resume at Porthaven Care Homes

We were as thrilled as our residents were to see the minibuses back in action this week! In line with the UK government roadmap out of lockdown, we have resumed short trips out and about in the local areas. With our residents and staff now vaccinated, this is truly a sign of better days ahead and a welcome return to our leisure and wellness programmes. New Origami Session Has Residents In Creases!

Following a request from a resident to learn origami, the leisure and wellness team arranged a session one Wednesday afternoon. After much laughter and joking, we all managed to make a fish and a butterfly each. We had been reliably informed that each task would take three minutes each, and two hours later, we emerged from the activities room, our sides hurting from laughter, having completed our origami session!
