Bourne Wood Manor provides 24 hour residential, nursing, dementia and respite care for the elderly in an elegant and spacious home incorporating numerous thoughtful and practical features which ensure our home is able to meet the changing needs of its residents.

Easter Celebrations


Throughout the Easter weekend we will be filling it with fun activities such as egg blowing, egg and spoon races, treasure egg hunts as well as making edible egg nests.

Great Gatsby Day

Saturday 3rd April 2021

We have an entertainer coming in for our Great Gatsby-themed day and everything will be decorated in decadent black and gold with a tea party for all the residents after the singer has performed. She will be re-living the 1920s to 1950s in music and it will be a spectacle for all the residents to enjoy in the bistro.

Tea for 3

EVERY DAY - 3.00pm

Every afternoon residents and staff are welcome to gather in lounges for Tea for 3. This is a great way to interact, get to know each other and reminisce. Staff and residents are encouraged to participate which allows for an opportunity where both residents and staff can enjoy a warm drink, some cake and have a conversation.

Group Games

EVERY TUESDAY - 3.30–4.30pm

Group games help everyone come together and is a great way to socialise as well as using both mental and physical co-ordination. Skittles, chair volleyball, carpet bowls – there’s something for all abilities.

Minibus Trips Resume at Porthaven Care Homes

We were as thrilled as our residents were to see the minibuses back in action this week! In line with the UK government roadmap out of lockdown, we have resumed short trips out and about in the local areas. With our residents and staff now vaccinated, this is truly a sign of better days ahead and a welcome return to our leisure and wellness programmes. New Origami Session Has Residents In Creases!

Following a request from a resident to learn origami, the leisure and wellness team arranged a session one Wednesday afternoon. After much laughter and joking, we all managed to make a fish and a butterfly each. We had been reliably informed that each task would take three minutes each, and two hours later, we emerged from the activities room, our sides hurting from laughter, having completed our origami session!
