Bordering the historic mill town of Congleton and the delightful village of Astbury in the heart of East Cheshire, Astbury Mere enjoys a truly enviable position. Whilst only a few minutes drive from the centre of town, the home enjoys a leafy setting adjacent to the natural open beauty of Astbury Mere Country Park. Astbury Mere is also less than 20 minutes away from Biddulph, Kidsgrove and Sandbach.

Opened in 2010, Astbury Mere provides 24 hour residential, nursing, dementia and respite care for the elderly in an elegant and spacious home incorporating numerous thoughtful and practical features which ensure Astbury Mere is able to meet the changing needs of its residents.

Our expertly trained and professional staff are dedicated to the care, comfort and dignity of all our residents, with special emphasis given to promoting independence, privacy, respect and wellbeing.

All residents benefit from living in a caring environment with generously appointed private bedrooms with en suite wetrooms, and plentiful communal living areas including sitting rooms, restaurants, a hairdressing salon, a leisure and wellness room and a private dining room for special family occasions.

In keeping with our unique and award winning leisure and wellness philosophy, our residents also benefit from our private and secure landscaped gardens for peaceful relaxation, gardening and if the weather permits, gentle exercising.

Afternoon Tea Parties

Friday 1st January 2021 - 2.30pm 1st Floor | 3.00pm Ground Floor

Come along to our popular afternoon tea parties and indulge in delicious homemade cake and a cup of tea. The perfect opportunity for residents to socialise, whilst still maintaining their distance.

The Great British Bird Watch


We kick start the Great British Bird Watch on the 2nd and will continue every weekend until the end of January.

Peter Pan

Sunday 3rd January 2021 - 5.30pm Ground Floor Lounge

Join us for a live pantomime performance of Peter Pan from the Barn Theatre Productions, Cirencester. Our January will be filled with magic, trust and pixie dust as Cirencester is transported to Neverland in Peter Pan!

Nostalgia Hour

Friday 8th January 2021 - 2.30pm

We will be taking a look at the original ration books introduced on this day in 1941 and recreating our own in today’s climate – what would you like to have in your ration books?

Silk Brass Band Performs

To spread some much-needed Christmas cheer, we enjoyed a performance from the Silk Brass Brand on the evening of 23rd December. The band visited, much to the delight of our residents and staff, and performed outside whilst everyone watched from indoors. One of our residents Clive played along on his harmonica whilst Doris and Connie, both 101, watched and reminisced of days gone by. It was a lovely, festive evening and we’re very grateful to the band for coming along and playing for us.

Festive Floral Class

Our residents immersed themselves in a festive world of magic in one of our most recent crafting sessions. Using colourful, fragrant foliage, pine cones, evergreens and flowers synonymous with the season, we made beautiful floral centrepieces to enjoy for Christmas.
