Bordering the historic mill town of Congleton and the delightful village of Astbury in the heart of East Cheshire, Astbury Mere enjoys a truly enviable position. Whilst only a few minutes drive from the centre of town, the home enjoys a leafy setting adjacent to the natural open beauty of Astbury Mere Country Park. Astbury Mere is also less than 20 minutes away from Biddulph, Kidsgrove and Sandbach.

Opened in 2010, Astbury Mere provides 24 hour residential, nursing, dementia and respite care for the elderly in an elegant and spacious home incorporating numerous thoughtful and practical features which ensure Astbury Mere is able to meet the changing needs of its residents.

Our expertly trained and professional staff are dedicated to the care, comfort and dignity of all our residents, with special emphasis given to promoting independence, privacy, respect and wellbeing.

All residents benefit from living in a caring environment with generously appointed private bedrooms with en suite wetrooms, and plentiful communal living areas including sitting rooms, restaurants, a hairdressing salon, a leisure and wellness room and a private dining room for special family occasions.

In keeping with our unique and award winning leisure and wellness philosophy, our residents also benefit from our private and secure landscaped gardens for peaceful relaxation, gardening and if the weather permits, gentle exercising.

Bonfire Night

Thursday 5th November 2020

Enjoy a Bonfire Night-themed day! Quizzes will be handed out with special prizes to be won and we’ll finish off the day with a bonfire-themed menu.

Remembrance Day

Sunday 8th November 2020

We will be tuning in to watch the livestreamed remembrance service this year, paying our respects to those who have fought and fallen.

Autumn Trolley

FRIDAY 13TH & 27TH NOVEMBER

A themed autumn trolley will be travelling around the home from 2:30pm with autumn tastes and treats, from cinnamon pastries to other delicious things to try.

Autumn/Winter Poetry Club

EVERY TUESDAY - 2.30pm

We will be reading and discussing various works and performing recitals, so join us for this fun, new activity. There will be small group bubbles to adhere to social distancing so please book with the leisure and wellness team if you would like to attend.

Astbury Mere Care Home Wins Garden Challenge Category

We are very pleased to say that we were announced as the winner of the flower-based task at this year’s Porthaven Garden Challenge and were crowned runners up in the overall competition too!

After months of input from both residents and staff, we’re so pleased to have walked away with, not one but two, accolades. We have all enjoyed this year’s competition thoroughly, which has given our residents a project to get stuck into. We are now enjoying the beginning of the autumn season and have picked the last of our home grown vegetables.
