A Visit from the Local Community for Key Workers Appreciation Day

Date posted: 26th July 2021

The St. Marys Women’s Institute of Astbury delivered cakes to Astbury Mere Care Home on Monday 5th July. This was their gesture of thanks to the nurses and carers who have worked selflessly throughout 2020, and continue to deal with the unremitting pressure of the pandemic. The small group delivered cakes and tokens of appreciation including a handmade knitted nurse and a beautiful poem was also written and read out. One of our residents whom was part of this group came out to meet her friends and had a photograph taken with them. A lovely contribution to embrace national Key Workers Appreciation Day.
