Bordering the historic mill town of Congleton and the delightful village of Astbury in the heart of East Cheshire, Astbury Mere enjoys a truly enviable position. Whilst only a few minutes drive from the centre of town, the home enjoys a leafy setting adjacent to the natural open beauty of Astbury Mere Country Park. Astbury Mere is also less than 20 minutes away from Biddulph, Kidsgrove and Sandbach.

Opened in 2010, Astbury Mere provides 24 hour residential, nursing, dementia and respite care for the elderly in an elegant and spacious home incorporating numerous thoughtful and practical features which ensure Astbury Mere is able to meet the changing needs of its residents.

Our expertly trained and professional staff are dedicated to the care, comfort and dignity of all our residents, with special emphasis given to promoting independence, privacy, respect and wellbeing.

All residents benefit from living in a caring environment with generously appointed private bedrooms with en suite wetrooms, and plentiful communal living areas including sitting rooms, restaurants, a hairdressing salon, a leisure and wellness room and a private dining room for special family occasions.

In keeping with our unique and award winning leisure and wellness philosophy, our residents also benefit from our private and secure landscaped gardens for peaceful relaxation, gardening and if the weather permits, gentle exercising.

All of us at Astbury Mere are confident we are one of the leading care homes in Cheshire. We would be delighted to show you our home, and should you decide to visit us, you will see the difference Astbury Mere makes to the lives of our residents and families.

To arrange a visit, please call our home manager, Emma Harding, our client services manager, Michelle Hinds, or if you prefer, simply send us a message.

CQC Rating Response

“Following the CQC inspection in May, we were delighted to receive overwhelmingly positive comments from residents, their families, and the CQC about the high-quality, warm, attentive and responsive care we provide. This is further supported by 93% of residents saying they would recommend us to a friend, and family members have given us a 9.2 out of 10 rating on the independent comparison website,

“We were therefore very surprised that the overall grade for the home does not accurately reflect this, or the CQC report’s very positive commentary on all aspects of life at the home.

“We pride ourselves on our comprehensive training programme, delivered by a dedicated in-home training manager, and our highly rated care service – as recognised by the CQC – is a testament to the programme’s effectiveness.

“We will continue to put the health and wellbeing of residents at the forefront of everything we do, and look forward to our next CQC report rating us ‘Good’ in all areas, fully reflecting the high-quality care we have always delivered.”
