New home now open!

Ideally located in the centre of historic and thriving Tonbridge, Porthaven’s new care home sits conveniently on Quarry Hill Road. As well as providing excellent care for the residents of Tonbridge, Tonbridge House Care Home is expected to become a very popular home for many residents of surrounding villages and towns such as Hadlow, Hildenborough and Paddock Wood.

Newly opened, Tonbridge House provides 24 hour residential, nursing, dementia and respite care for the elderly in an elegant and spacious home incorporating numerous thoughtful and practical features which ensure our home is able to meet the changing needs of its residents.

Porthaven’s expertly trained and professional staff are dedicated to the care, comfort and dignity of all our residents, with special emphasis given to promoting independence, privacy, respect and wellbeing.

All residents benefit from living in a caring environment with generously appointed private bedrooms with en suite wetrooms, and plentiful communal living areas including sitting rooms, restaurants, café, hairdressing salon and nail bar, leisure and wellness room and private dining room for special family occasions.

In keeping with our unique and award winning leisure and wellness philosophy, our residents also benefit from our private and secure landscaped garden for peaceful relaxation, gardening and if the weather permits, gentle exercising.

Our new home is now open and we would be delighted to meet you, show you around and discuss whether we are able to assist you or your loved one.

To arrange a visit please call our Home Manager, Karen Pain, our Client Services Manager, Michael Marley, or if you prefer, simply send us a message.

Activities - Join us!

Below are a selection of upcoming and past activities at Tonbridge House. For the full listing, please click here.

Reminiscence Boxes

We have been getting reminiscence boxes from our local library which are lovely to look through with residents and we’ve based some of our activities on these boxes. They’re a great way of looking back through the years and getting residents talking about the places they know or the things they used to do. The activities have brought up lots of fond memories. Join us on a Tuesday afternoon for these reminiscence activities.

Teapot Island

One of our minibus trips in August will be to Teapot Island, a quirky exhibition in Maidstone that houses 6,700 teapots! There is also the opportunity to have cream tea once we’ve browsed this unusual attraction and there’s also a gift shop where you can purchase a tea pot if you so wish! All welcome.

We’ll be making our way to Hastings to enjoy a day at the seaside. We’re hoping to still be in the midst of the warm weather, so we can take in the fresh sea air and enjoy a fish and chip lunch before returning home.

Knole Park

Historic Knole Park and the house within it, Knole House, belong to The National Trust and we’ll be visiting to have a look around. Join us for an insightful and interesting day to somewhere new!

All this is happening as well as our regular groups. Contact us today on 01732 497500 to find out more about these upcoming events and activities or why not suggest an activity yourself!
