Opened in 2016, Woodland Manor provides 24 hour residential, nursing, dementia and respite care for the elderly in an elegant and spacious home incorporating numerous thoughtful and practical features which ensure Woodland Manor is able to meet the changing needs of its residents.

Our expertly trained and professional staff are dedicated to the care, comfort and dignity of all our residents, with special emphasis given to promoting independence, privacy, respect and wellbeing.

All residents benefit from living in a caring environment with generously appointed private bedrooms with en suite wetrooms, and plentiful communal living areas including sitting rooms, restaurants, a café, cinema, hairdressing salon, leisure and wellness room and private dining room for special family occasions.

In keeping with our unique and award winning leisure and wellness philosophy, our residents also benefit from our private and secure landscaped gardens for peaceful relaxation, gardening and if the weather permits, gentle exercising.

Henley Rowing Museum

MONDAY 4TH JULY

We will be taking a minibus trip to Henley Rowing Museum to enjoy the excitement surrounding the Henley Regatta. The museum also has a section on the much-loved children’s book ‘The Wind in the Willows’.

World Chocolate Day

THURSDAY 7TH JULY

We will be marking this day by trying a selection of treats made by our fantastic in-house kitchen team. Our chocolate fountain will be out in full force with a range of dipping options! Our home cinema will be showing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in the afternoon.

Goodwood Festival

WEDNESDAY 13TH JULY

A classic car will be parked in the car park here at Woodland Manor for our residents to enjoy. Throughout the festival of speed, we will be collecting newspaper images and reminiscing over our old motors! We will be showing ‘Greece’ and ‘Rush’ in our home cinema throughout the day.

St Swithins Day

FRIDAY 15TH JULY

According to traditional folklore the weather on the 15th July will determine the forecast for the next 40 days and nights. We are hoping for sunshine and as part of our arts and crafts session on Tuesday, we will be sunflower decorations for our garden.

Fiona Harrison

THURSDAY 21ST JULY

We are welcoming Fiona Harrison who will be singing a range of songs from popular musicals. We always look forward to her performances!

Commonwealth Games

THURSDAY 28TH JULY

We will be marking the start of the commonwealth games with our very own sporting event. Our pop- up podium will be the venue for prize giving!

Care Home Open Day

SATURDAY 30TH JULY

Join us for our open day where we will be showing off our beautiful home!

Book Club

Our next book will be ‘Paddington’ after enjoying the Queen’s interaction so much!

Seated and standing dance class

Join Michelle as she gets our dancing shoes on, and boogies us around the room.

Gardening Club

Now that the weather is improving it’s all hands on deck to tend to our garden, planting vegetables in the troughs and watering our flower beds. Keeping our fingers crossed for the tallest sunflower in the Porthaven competition.

Hairdresser

EVERY TUESDAY

Book a session from reception for Jacqui’s visit. In our arts and crafts group we will be creating some
‘hairdressing from the ages’ scrapbooks and some portraits of Hollywood stars.

Arts and crafts

Come join as we try out tie-dying some garden cushions or summer scarves, get ready to explore various painting techniques.

Film Club

Our cinema is always open for requests, we have a fantastic DVD library of modern movies, musicals, and classics; we can also watch sports and new stories. In addition to this in June we will be starting our documentary club.

PAT dog Maisey

WEDNESDAY MORNINGS

Maisey is enjoying a holiday but will be back on a regular basis for pet therapy. We always look forward to her tail wagging visits.

Church services

FRIDAY MORNINGS FORTNIGHTLY

Our services alternate between Revd. Wendy Graham from St Peter’s Church and Pastor Stephen Walker-Williams from the Goldhill Hub. Services are held in Sandringham lounge. We sometimes have the opportunity to take communion with Wendy.

Minibus Trips

We continue to enjoy scenic bus rides to gardens, activity venues, cafés, pubs and museums.

‘Oomph’

Our subscription to ‘Oomph’ give us the opportunity to connect online with not only the regular music sing-a-longs but it has also introduced us to meditation and exercise sessions.

Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee was most definitely the highlight of June for everyone here at Woodland Manor in Chalfont St Peter.

We commenced the bank holiday by watching the trooping of the colour on our big screen in the lounge and we were thrilled to see her majesty make an appearance. Our residents then enjoyed some entertainment in the sunshine whilst tucking in to a regal-themed afternoon tea made by our fantastic in-house kitchen team.

It was such a wonderful weekend and we are looking forward to many more garden parties throughout the summer.

Here at Woodland Manor in Chalfont St Peter, we made the most of the glorious sunshine over Easter weekend and spent some time in our garden. Our residents took part in an Easter egg hunt, finding carefully hidden eggs scattered across the lawn before sitting down to make carefully crafted Easter bonnets. Each one was unique with feathers, ribbons, bunnies and chicks!
