Buxton Musical Memories

Tuesday 7th August 2018 - 10:30am

We continue to work with ‘Making Space’ who run Musical Memories to support Buxton Dementia Alliance. Why not come along for tea or coffee, have a chat with some of our residents and enjoy the music.

Through the Garden Gate

Wednesday 8th August 2018 - 2:30pm

Christine and Ness take you ‘Through the Garden Gate’, giving participants a taste of what it’s like opening a garden for the National Garden Scheme. People began first opening their gardens to the public in 1927 but can be traced back to Victorian times and the invention of district nursing. Christine has been opening her garden for seven years and explains what is needed to get your garden approved for opening. There’s also tales of what she has experienced over the years!

Musical Entertainment with Barry Manfield

Friday 17th August 2018 - 2:30pm

Back by popular demand, Barry plays a selection of old time favourites and up to date classics. Our residents love to sing along with him and often our carers will get up to join in with a song and for a dance. Come along and enjoy an uplifting afternoon with a great atmosphere.

Mary Deville

Friday 24th August 2018 - 2:30pm

Mary’s shows include poetry, verse, music and song. They often feature a quiz to encourage interaction so the more audience participation, the more we like it!

All this is happening as well as our regular groups. Contact us today on 01298 600 700 to find out more about these upcoming events and activities or why not suggest an activity yourself!
