Buxton in Bloom Judging

First fortnight of August

One way of forming community links and involving our residents in the garden has been to enter Buxton in Bloom. This year’s theme is ‘Ruby Red and Buxton Blue with a splash of Orange flowing through.’ Summer 2019 is all about celebration! This year we celebrate 40 years of the Buxton International Festival (Ruby Red), 40 years of the Buxton Festival Fringe (Splash of Orange) and the re-opening of the 5* Buxton Crescent Thermal Spa and Hotel (Buxton Blue). We’d better get out and smarten up the garden in time for the judges’ arrival!

Music Through the Ages with Frank and Cheryl

Wednesday 7th August 2019 - 10.30am

Why not come along and listen to music from different eras? Frank and Cheryl like to get our residents up dancing and singing along to well-known tunes. The nostalgic numbers help our residents remember good times, reawakening memories, improving cognitive abilities. We always end up having a great time.

Tropical Bash, Summer Splash Open Day

Saturday 17th August 2019 - 2.00pm

What’s better than a summer party? One that’s tiki-tastic! With all the tropical flair you can imagine, we have booked a steel drum band, there will be a cocktail bar, face painting, a barbecue and a visit from the local sea cadets all enjoyed in the beautiful surroundings of our home and garden. Everyone is welcome and we look forward to seeing you there.

Peak in the Past Talk

Friday 23rd August 2019 - 11.00am

A lovely chap, extremely knowledgeable on times gone by locally, Tim is going to come and give us a talk on the High Peak in the past. Join us for a journey through the Peak District and chat with Tim and our residents as they reminisce over good times and relive happy memories.

All this is happening as well as our regular groups. Contact us today on 01298 600 700 to find out more about these upcoming events and activities or why not suggest an activity yourself!
