Close to the centre of popular Newbury and a short drive from the M4 motorway, Falkland Grange Care Home is within easy reach of the many amenities the town has to offer, including the lively Newbury Racecourse.
As with all Porthaven care homes, we provide 24 hour support for residential, nursing and dementia care in a choice of stylish and spacious accommodation tailored to your individual needs.
Care is what Porthaven does best and every member of staff is hand-selected for their empathy, professionalism and thorough dedication to the care, comfort and dignity of the residents they support. They share the same values as our senior management team, encouraging independence, dignity, privacy and respect.
A Porthaven home is a place to live well and Falkland Grange is no exception. Every resident benefits from their own spacious and private bedroom equipped with an en suite wetroom. There are also adjoining rooms, where couples may choose to live together whilst receiving the care and support they both need. There are plenty of communal areas too which give the home a real sense of community, including a variety of lounges, restaurants, a hair salon and an activities lounge. A private dining room for family celebrations, a café and even a cinema complete the wide range of facilities on offer at our new care home.
Living well at a Porthaven home means you have the choice to live as active a lifestyle as you wish and so boredom is never a consideration. Our award-winning activities and wellbeing philosophy focuses on active ageing and so our dedicated activities and wellbeing team are on hand seven days a week delivering a programme of interesting and varied events and activities to promote resident wellbeing. Hobby clubs, keep fit classes, weekly trips out in our minibus, and special events such as the annual garden challenge ensure that there is always plenty to do at a Porthaven home.
It would be a pleasure to show you around our home and chat about your needs or the needs of your loved one. To find out more, please call our Home Manager George Radoicovici, our Client Services Manager Jim MacLeod or, if you prefer, simply send us a message.

View the full Falkland Grange activities listingHere at Falkland Grange, we always make sure to reflect our residents’ interests and hobbies in the activities we offer within our home, gaining this insight during conversations with them and at our monthly resident meetings. Following such feedback, we are extremely excited to have recently unveiled The Falkland Arms, our very own pub pool, air hockey and table tennis area. This fun addition is already proving to be a much-loved feature of our home, with many of our residents, their loved ones and our team members showing off their skills (or lack thereof at times!) in this new space. The highlight of this was our World Parkinson’s Day pool tournament, during which we showed our support for Parkinson’s UK.

The trio reminisced on their time sailing the world together on impressive ships such as The Tenacious and The Lord Nelson, with Marco being the chief engineer, John the second engineer and Alan the boatswain’s mate. Marco and Alan also shared a few stories about John’s cheeky antics aboard the ship, which everybody found thoroughly amusing!

Sat in our stunning private dining room, those in attendance were also treated to live entertainment by a visiting bagpiper between courses. Afterwards, everybody shared lively stories of their Scottish friends and experiences over the years, and our cheery resident Roz even brought along her much-loved Robert Burns ornament to discuss and decorate the room!
