Close to the centre of popular Newbury and a short drive from the M4 motorway, Falkland Grange Care Home is within easy reach of the many amenities the town has to offer, including the lively Newbury Racecourse.

As with all Porthaven care homes, we provide 24 hour support for residential, nursing and dementia care in a choice of stylish and spacious accommodation tailored to your individual needs.

Care is what Porthaven does best and every member of staff is hand-selected for their empathy, professionalism and thorough dedication to the care, comfort and dignity of the residents they support. They share the same values as our senior management team, encouraging independence, dignity, privacy and respect.

A Porthaven home is a place to live well and Falkland Grange is no exception. Every resident benefits from their own spacious and private bedroom equipped with an en suite wetroom. There are also adjoining rooms, where couples may choose to live together whilst receiving the care and support they both need. There are plenty of communal areas too which give the home a real sense of community, including a variety of lounges, restaurants, a hair salon and an activities lounge. A private dining room for family celebrations, a café and even a cinema complete the wide range of facilities on offer at our new care home.

Living well at a Porthaven home means you have the choice to live as active a lifestyle as you wish and so boredom is never a consideration. Our award-winning leisure and wellness philosophy focuses on active ageing and so our dedicated leisure and wellness team are on hand seven days a week delivering a programme of interesting and varied events and activities to promote resident wellbeing. Hobby clubs, keep fit classes, weekly trips out in our minibus, and special events such as the annual garden challenge ensure that there is always plenty to do at a Porthaven home.

It would be a pleasure to show you around our home and chat about your needs, or the needs of your loved one. To find out more, please call our home manager, Carla Kell, our client services manager, Sarah Jacka or if you prefer, simply send us a message.

A Greek staycation

Date posted: 25th November 2021

Everyone here at Falkland Grange in Newbury Berkshire, swapped the beautiful countryside for a day of Greek-inspired activities as part of our ‘staycation’.

The home was decorated to look like the beautiful Caldera and residents sipped iced coffee and baked Greek yogurt cakes in the morning. Following this, we were entertained by a pianist and everyone enjoyed ouzo and Greek tapas which had been beautifully cooked by our in-house kitchen team.

A Barge Trip Along the Kennet and Avon Canal

Date posted: 25th October 2021

Residents and staff from Falkland Grange in Newbury enjoyed a barge trip along the Kennet and Avon Canal this month.

Mike Stabler, one of our residents, used to share these barge trips with his family and it was one of his life goals to take a trip down memory lane. Along with Mike, three of our other residents enjoyed the trip for their birthdays this month.

Our kitchen staff supplied us with a delicious on board buffet which was thoroughly enjoyed by all and we were lucky enough to have the weather on our side too!

CQC GOOD for Falkland Grange!

Date posted: 28th July 2021

We celebrated in true Falkland Grange style after receiving the fantastic news that we have scored ‘Good’ in our recent CQC rating. We hosted a carnival on site for residents and staff and this included a steel brass band, show girl dancers and a Caribbean BBQ. Everyone enjoyed the mocktails and danced the day away. A fantastic day was had by all and we couldn’t be happier!
