Summer Garden Party an Overwhelming Success for the Second Year!

We held our Summer Garden Party on Saturday 14th July and it was a fantastic day enjoyed by residents, families and guests from the local community.

As our garden party was such a success last year, we had bigger and better things in mind this year. There was a performance by Fiona Harrison who had everyone up and dancing along to songs from the 1960’s as well as a magician, a raffle, a fantastic buffet and an ice cream trike to help cool everyone down during a particularly hot day! With an additional four gazebos this year for guests, we eventually ran out of shade but luckily, we didn’t run out of Pimms!

It was great for us to see so many familiar faces during the afternoon with many of our former respite residents joining us for the afternoon as well as those from Stokenchurch Day Centre.

We would like to extend a special thank you to one of our residents, Audrey Vale, who arranged all of the table decorations and to Jo Langley who kindly planted a number of the flower pots in preparation for the big day.

We definitely topped last year’s event and we are delighted to have raised £354 for Nettlebed, a Sue Ryder Hospice, during the afternoon. We can’t wait to do it all again next year!
