News & Events at Haddon Hall Care Home

In August, we took advantage of the sunny days and went on a lovely run out over the roaches, past Ramshaw Rocks (keeping an eye out for the ‘Winking man’) to Great Haywood Canalside Farm, Shop and Café. We had a fabulous lunch and a mooch in the shop filled with farm fresh produce.

To round off the day, we took a gentle stroll down to the canal side. There, we paused to enjoy the peaceful setting, watching the boats drift by and waving to the friendly boaters as they passed. It was a truly wonderful outing, filled with chatter, laughter, and plenty of shared memories—a perfect day spent in great company.

Thank you, Louise, for 10 years of service!

Please join us in celebrating Louise, our residential dementia care manager, who marks 10 years of dedicated service at our Haddon Hall care home.

Louise is exceptional; her caring nature and passion for her work shine through every day. She is always ready to help and is loved and respected by residents, families, and colleagues alike. Louise began as a carer on the twilight shift when her children were young, then moved to day shifts, and later served as a team leader on the nursing floor for two years. She then became a team leader on the dementia floor and has been in her current role for two and a half years.

Congratulations and thank you, Louise. We would be lost without you.

March Marie Curie fundraiser

This year we took part in Marie Curie’s Great Daffodil Appeal by hosting a traditional pub quiz complete with prizes for the winners! Alongside visitors from our local U3A and Women’s Institute, our residents, their loved ones and our team members had a brilliant evening competing in the quiz, which included a general knowledge round, a dingbats round and a music round. The music round was particularly enjoyable, and for the general knowledge round some of our residents even worked with our activities and wellbeing team to come up with a few questions. After the winning prize of afternoon tea for eight in our gorgeous private dining room was awarded, we counted up our donations and found out we had managed to raise a fantastic £175 for Marie Curie!
