We’ve been celebrating receiving our ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following our first inspection by the regulatory body.
Inspected over the course of two days, we received ‘good’ outcomes in all five categories of the report, which noted how our staff were ‘kind and caring in their interactions with people’, treating residents with dignity and respect and encouraging them to keep up relationships with their loved ones. Furthermore, CQC reported that staff delivered responsive care according to residents’ needs, providing them with ‘individualised care and support’ whilst also clearly understanding their roles and the rights of those living at the home. The report went on to say that there was a positive emphasis placed upon meeting residents’ nutritional needs at mealtimes and residents and families felt engaged and listened to by staff and our home manager.
We were thrilled with the outcome of the report and in particular, our home manager Heather, who has been at the helm since we opened in October 2017. Heather commented, “We are committed to our residents and to ensuring they receive the very best in all aspects of their care so it’s great to have been recognised as providing a service that is, among other things, effective, responsive and caring. My team work so well together and we’ve gone from strength to strength since opening just over a year ago. This really has topped off a great first year for us and I couldn’t be prouder of my whole team.”
