News & Events at Lea Grange

Good luck from all of us, Justin!

At the end of September, we had a bittersweet farewell celebration for Justin, our activities coordinator, who is leaving us to go train as a doctor! Justin has been a very important member of our team since he joined, and it won’t be the same without him.

Justin has been an important and much-loved member of our team since the day he joined, always bringing energy, creativity, and care to everything he does. From organising fun-filled activities to brightening our residents’ days with his cheerful spirit, he has truly made a lasting impression on everyone here.

For his party, our residents decorated delicious cupcakes for Justin, which we surprised him with in our bistro. We’d like to say thank you and wish Justin all the best in his journey, and we hope you come back to visit us soon!

A heartwarming morning at our memory café

In August, we were thrilled to host a memory café morning in our bistro with our friends from Home Instead.

Our guests got to enjoy freshly baked cakes, pastries, drinks, and a selection of board games during this social morning. With our home almost being a year old, it fills our hearts with joy to know we are part of such a vibrant and welcoming community here in Harpenden, and we can’t wait to celebrate our first birthday next month with our friends from the past year.

Getting artistic at Lea Grange

During July, our residents have been getting creative!

We kicked off the month by refreshing our dining room vases with some beautiful flower arrangements, then followed a virtual paint-along using our interactive board. We also enjoyed a lovely afternoon making stencilled bookmarks with Art by Ellen. Finally, to end the week, we spent time outside in the sunshine decorating plant pots for our herb garden.

We love putting on meaningful and rewarding activities like these. It is such a joy to see our residents getting involved, expressing themselves, and having fun together.
