We are extremely lucky here at Prestbury House to have a magnificent horse chestnut tree overlooking the front of our house. One of the main benefits of this tree is that during the autumn it drops conkers for us to collect. This has led to many discussions about the games we played with conkers as children at school. This year we decided to use the conkers to make little hedgehogs to display around our home and garden. Our residents have loved the opportunity to get crafty and make their own hedgehog conker families and displays. We are even donating two full bags of conkers, which were collected by our activities and wellbeing team members, to our local nursery so that they can make their own hedgehog conkers.
