The sun came out for all those who ventured to the Wiltshire Heights ‘beach’ on the afternoon of 10th July. It was slightly breezy so a blanket was essential but all of our residents enjoyed their day at the beach, tucking into ice creams and taking in the efforts that had been made to transform our garden into an authentic seaside experience. There was a fabulous beach scene serving as a backdrop and our residents had made an array of colourful fish which we hung up around the garden.
In place of the usual entertainers we would organise, several members of the Wiltshire Heights team very generously showcased their talents for the crowd. We started the afternoon with a performance of sea shanties and a sing-along of seaside favourites before our staff members took centre stage. We were treated to an amazing acrobatic routine by Lily, the recital of two poems by Lily and Sally before Miriam sang for a captivated audience.
The residents thoroughly enjoyed being entertained by those who care for them on daily basis and there were plenty of comments about how much they all enjoyed their afternoon at the ‘beach’.
