On Friday 15th November, we will be fundraising for Children in Need by embarking on a 12-hour virtual cycling marathon.
Using our new Motiview video projection technology, our residents, staff, friends and family members will be cycling through over 1,900 virtual locations as part of the ‘Pedal for Pudsey’ charity event which is running from 8.00am-8.00pm. Motiview, a concept created by Norwegian AgeTech start-up company Motitech, encourages older people or those living with dementia to engage in physical exercise and enables all of our residents to participate regardless of their abilities.
This year is Children in Need’s 39th year and following our 6th place finish at the international Road World for Seniors event in September, everyone at the home is keen to get back into the saddle and challenge themselves once again.
Libby Miles, our client services manager, said: ‘We are incredibly proud of our residents here at Wiltshire Heights Care Home. We have some very keen cyclists in our team who are raring to go and we’re really looking forward to seeing how far we can cycle to support Children in Need.’ She continued: ‘Not only will our residents benefit from taking part in physical activity and being socially engaged, but they will be fundraising for an incredible cause, in turn helping to shape the future of those young people that are most in need for years to come.’
