Our residents at Woodland Manor Care Home, in the beautiful village of Chalfont St Peter have recently visited the Battle of Britain Bunker museum in Uxbridge. There were so many exhibits and interactive displays for our residents to engage with in this state-of-the-art museum.
All of our residents who attended enjoyed a thrilling day viewing a replica of the plotting table and an imposing statue of Vice-Marhsall Keith Park, who determined how best to defend Britain. They even watched a fascinating bunker documentary in the museum’s plush auditorium. Pictured are two of our residents standing in front of a Spitfire aeroplane.
Margaret Onn, our Leisure and Wellness Coordinator has stated she enjoyed the trip so much, she will be returning to see the original bunker as her father was a navigator in the RAF. He was stationed at RAF Northolt in Ruislip, and it was particularly reminiscent for her.
