Just before the Easter weekend, we hosted an Easter egg competition, inviting the pupils of Falkland Primary School to design their very own Easter egg with the winning design turned into a chocolate version.
We were inundated with an array of brilliant, bright designs so we had a tough task choosing our favourites, but eventually, we whittled it down to 20 entries. Our residents took over the reins, deciding on their favourite three with the designs of the first and second prize winners being replicated in chocolate by our head chef, Sam.
Congratulations go to first prize winner Bella, second prize winner, Ollie and third prize winner, Matilda, who showed so much creativity in their entries! Bella received a £50 Amazon voucher, whilst Ollie received a £25 voucher and Matilda received a chocolate Easter egg. We were so impressed by the efforts of all the children that each one was awarded a chocolate lolly too.
On Wednesday 31st March, we invited the winners to a special prize giving in our garden, showcasing their Easter eggs and awarding them with their prizes.
Our residents sat in the garden to watch the proceedings and it was a real treat to have the children with us, albeit for a short time, and we can’t to restart our intergenerational sessions as soon as we are able to.
