In December, we hosted ‘Bake Off for Archie’, a virtual baking competition raising funds for four year old local lad Archie, who is battling neuroblastoma.
We invited as many of the local shops, businesses and households in the area as possible to get involved by making celebration-themed cakes, which were judged by our staff, residents and event sponsors, The Frost Partnership, on visual appeal and creativity alone.
We were thoroughly impressed by the standard of the entries which made our job of judging the winners of the junior and senior categories very hard indeed. Pictured are the winning entries, which, we think you’ll agree, are fantastic!
All entrants were asked to donate £5 to Archie’s Journey with cash prizes of £100 up for grabs for the best two entries. Anyone who donated over £5 was automatically entered into a prize for the chance to win a further £250, all in the name of raising funds and awareness of Archie and his journey. At the time of writing, we are thrilled to have raised over £1700 which will go some way towards helping Archie’s family in their ongoing efforts to fundraise for a vaccine treatment, available only in the US.
